Meet Stuart, one of Arkonik’s most devoted long-standing team members, a true petrolhead with adventure and Land Rovers at his core. His loyalty to the craft is matched only by his passion for the Arkonik brand, a fire that clearly runs in the family, with two of his sons, Craig and Scott proudly working alongside him.
His Calling
Stuart’s adventurous spirit has been with him since boyhood. As a young lad, he could always be found tinkering with motocross bikes, stripping them down, rebuilding them, and squeezing out every last bit of performance. It didn’t take long for everyone around him to realise that engineering wasn’t just an interest; it was his calling.

Arkonik, for me, is much like owning a Land Rover, the product it’s built upon. It’s always pushing boundaries, testing its limits, experimenting with balance and capability, all while staying genuine and authentic.”
His professional journey has taken him through a range of hands-on industries, from welding to shot blasting, all of which helped shape the skilled craftsman he is today. He joined Arkonik in 2007 during its inception, then known as Land Rovers UK, and his experience, combined with a lifelong passion for mechanics, made him the perfect fit for the brand.
Stuart’s connection to the marque runs even deeper through his own Land Rover: a Series III 109 six-cylinder, one ton pick-up that has seen more transformations than most. Over the years, he’s reimagined it from its original format to a hard-top and back to a pick-up. He’s also experimented with various ride heights, suspension setups, and performance-focused engine modifications, which included a stage one V8 front end to accommodate the bigger unit. This personal project has given him a rare, hands-on understanding of the quirks and character of these vehicles.

It’s this depth of knowledge that Stuart brought to Arkonik from day one. Initially focused on rebuilding our heritage engines, a responsibility he still remains involved with, he has more recently turned his considerable expertise to our chassis refurbishment and improvement programme. With more than 40 years’ experience behind him, Stuart ensures every build starts with a solid foundation, meticulously aligning each chassis on our custom jig and applying his refined welding and shot-blasting skills.

Friendly, dedicated, and unwavering in his craft, Stuart remains a cornerstone of the Arkonik team, his passion not just evident in his work, but infused into every vehicle that leaves our workshop.

“Put simply, I love how it makes a bold statement without ever shouting. The authentic colours, original accessories, and fully refurbished 3.5L V8 create a Land Rover that truly earns its iconic status. And having worked with ‘Shire’ horses, I enjoy how my connection to horsepower has come full circle.”
