This station wagon will initially come in to land in Wisconsin before being driven north to Quebec. Its owners Michael & Susan, regularly travel to their cottage on the banks of the picturesque Lac-MacDonald in the Laurentian Mountains. The journey takes them along rough tracks, winding trails and logging roads to reach their forest haven. BLACKBIRD has been named by Michael as a fond reminder of those pesky, yet resourceful and enduring birds which migrate daily through the area.
EXTERIOR
Lustrous Bonatti Grey bodywork will blend harmoniously with the mountainous rocky surroundings of the Mont Tremblant region. Twin Hella® spotlights and Twin-Cat LED headlamps will light the way, whilst BFGoodrich® KO2 tires and KAHN® Defend 1948 16” wheels tackle the rough trails of the National Park.
INTERIOR
As with all Arkonik builds, this station wagon has been fitted with tailored sound-proofing and carpeting throughout. BLACKBIRD’s seats are trimmed in supple Anvil Grey leather with matching door cards and a premium cubby box. Finishing touches include alloy door furniture and gear knobs to match the wood-rimmed billet steering wheel.
“Our cottage was built in 1929 with all the attributes of a Canadian legacy cottage. The area of Mont Tremblant is home to an abundance of fine French restaurants, many of which are in remote areas and serve everything locally grown, raised or hunted. The Defender will get us safely to and from many of these and we look forward to it.”
